What would you say is the most important thing that you can do for your business?
Other than starting it, of course, there is one particular thing that I always feel people should do to be successful with their business. If you know me (or maybe if you’ve owned your own business for a while you already know), you’ll know that I think showing up and connecting with people is vital to the business world! After all, SEVEN is all about connecting entrepreneurs, finding like-minded individuals and growing the businesses that have become such an important part of our lives and hearts.
When it comes to business (and honestly life in general) you have to be willing to meet with people, show up and be a part of the conversation if you want to stand out and have people remember you. Remember when you were just out of school and searching for a job? One thing mentors always told me was to follow up and network like crazy if I wanted to get anywhere. The same rules apply now that we own our own businesses. Are you not willing to give your all and show up for the important conversations? Then you must not be interested in become the most successful person that you can be! That’s how I see it anyway.
So, how do you start getting involved with others in order to boost your Company and business in general? Well, (hint hint) SEVEN is always a good place to start! On a more serious note though, the best way to start anything is just to simply go for it and get out there. Luckily, in this day and age, we have the ability to meet others online and stay in the comfort of our own home.
FOLLOW UP!
I think something that has always really impressed me is when people follow up on conversations that we’ve had. Checking in just shows people that you truly care. Who wants to work with someone who doesn’t seem up to the challenge of creating something amazing? That’s right, no one! That being said, find networking groups, get involved with people who are just as excited about expanding and promoting their businesses and make sure to stay in contact with them.
One thing I think people are often afraid of is that people will get annoyed if you try and follow up by checking in with them. Believe me, it is truly one of those “they are more scared of you than you are them” kind of situation. Okay, so I hope no one is scared of each other but you probably understand my point. When all is said and done, reaching out for help or to help someone else is a brave and wonderful thing. Just doing something as simple as connecting with another person can launch your business to places you never even dreamed. It’s time to get out there, meet people and learn what entrepreneurial success feels like!
