Why Aren’t You Using Live Streaming In Your Business?

Live streaming is the hottest marketing tool out there right now. If you aren’t using it, you could be missing a huge opportunity to tell the story of your business.

VIDEO STATISTICS

Hubspot.com has these statistics about using video in 2015:

  • On line video is 50% of mobile traffic. This is huge as more people move their online life to smartphones and tablets.
  • 65% of viewers watch MORE than ¾ of a video. People are more likely to watch a video than read the text on a page.
  • If you use the word Video in the subject line of your email campaign, you could see as much as a 19% higher open rate and 65% higher click through rate. That is huge. After all, the point of the email campaign is to have people click through to your website or offer, right?
  • By 2017, video is expected to be 69% of consumer internet traffic.

LIVE STREAMING PLATFORMS

Periscope.Tv – Periscope is a live streaming app owned by Twitter. In order to create a live video, you need to download their app to your smartphone or tablet. Both Android and iOS are supported.

Facebook Live – Facebook live allows you to stream a video to your followers right inside your Facebook app on your phone or tablet; no need to download a new app. You can live stream from your personal page or from your business page. Take advantage of Facebooks platform and share your videos.

Blab.im – Blab is live streaming with a twist. In a blab forum, you can have up to 4 people streaming live at the same time, with others participating through chat. Blab is really about having live streaming conversations.

 LIVE STREAMING ADVANTAGE

Those stats were just for video. The huge advantage for live streaming is it’s INTERACTIVE! Your viewers can interact with you through text. They can ask questions, offer opinions, give you the thumbs up that you’re doing a great job. You can make replays available for people who didn’t see the original stream. With Facebook Live, they are on your timeline forever unless you take them down. With Periscope, they are available for 24 hours unless you save them and post them somewhere else.

Live streaming is authentic. It’s not polished and scripted. While it’s a good idea to have your talking points thought out, you’re not reading from a script. You’re adapting to your audience, answering questions, greeting others, asking them questions. You have the opportunity to really connect with people you’ve never met. For small businesses today, making those personal connections is super important. You need to build the relationship and develop the know, like and trust factor to earn their business.

If you are in Arizona and would like to use live streaming to your advantage, I’d love to share my audience with you. I have over 2,000 followers on Periscope and I get hundreds of views on my Facebook Live videos.
